From SanoLabs, the makers of the Sam app

Be there for your parent without asking all the time

For adults supporting a parent with a chronic condition: listen instead of checking up, prepare the doctor visit together, and stay in touch even from far away.

Where do I start?

Which smartwatch suits your parent?

The finder asks briefly about budget and ease of use, then tells you honestly what a device can and cannot do. An Apple Watch, for example, does not measure blood pressure.

Care Circle in Sam

You see what your parent shares with you

In Care Circle your parent chooses what to share with you, and you see it read-only. You both need Sam.

  • Your parent decidesThey choose per person what you see, for example sleep, steps or symptoms. A short profile is always included.
  • Read-only, ends any timeYou see the selection without editing it. Your parent can end the sharing at any time.
  • No advice, no interpretationYou see the entries themselves, without any rating. What they mean is for the doctor to discuss with them.
  • Invite by linkYou join through an invite link or code. You get no alerts about their data.
Example

Less guessing, more talking

  • Instead ofasking on the phone and hoping for an honest answer

In SamYour parent shares what they like, and you have something to talk about.

  • Instead ofretelling the appointment from memory

In SamYour parent takes their history to the visit as a report.

Care Circle only shows what your parent shares. It is not an emergency system.

What family members often ask

Will my parent actually use Sam?+

That is their decision. The best approach is to offer to set it up together instead of prescribing it. Sam keeps symptoms and trends, and in the eight condition programs (each a diary with a doctor report) medication too, and turns them into a report for the doctor visit.

Can I see my parent's data?+

Only if your parent adds you in Care Circle and shares areas with you. You see them read-only, and the sharing can be ended at any time.

Is Care Circle a form of surveillance of my parent?+

No. Your parent decides what to share. You get no alerts about their data and no interpretation of the values.

Does Sam replace the doctor?+

No. Sam is a wellness companion, not a medical device. Sam makes no diagnoses and gives no treatment advice. A doctor makes the assessment.

Can a smartwatch measure blood pressure?+

An Apple Watch does not measure blood pressure. Validated upper-arm cuffs do. Ask the family doctor's practice which one fits.

What if my parent suddenly feels very unwell?+

For acute symptoms call your local emergency number (112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US) or your doctor's out-of-hours service. Sam is not meant for that.

Take care of your parents.

Sam keeps track of how the weeks went, so you both have something concrete to bring to the doctor.

Sam is a wellness companion, not a medical device. Sam does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition and does not replace a doctor. An Apple Watch does not measure blood pressure.
